I have a Toy poodle named bella she is about 5mths old and she refuses to go to the bathroom out side!
Right when we take her out of the kennel when we get home or in the morning we take her outside and hook her to a extendable leash and leave her to do her buisness and then take her inside and play with her if she wants no food or water (she can get to her food or water whenever she wants) and then for some reason she just pees right in front of us like it is a joke and then we yell at her telling her she is a bad girl and take her outside put her on the leash again and then clean it up then bring her back inside and put her in her kennel... what am i doing wrong?
What i also think...
I think that we need to wait out there with her and give her a treat when she goes to the bathroom outside and then always watch her and not let her sniff around like she does....

I believe you answered your own question. Also, make it that she has feeding times, 3 times/day and as soon as she drinks...wait 10 min and take her out. It happens that quick.

There are some great books to read out there and I found some on this site. Check them out. I know some people who have used them and what a difference. Much more restriction with the food and water...you'll then have a less stinky household.

First off do not stay outside with her or else you will always have to do that and when its cold trust me your gonna wanna be inside dont let her have constant access to her water bowl until she is trained you need to monitor what she eats and drinks make sure she eats at the same time every day and that she goes out every half hour after a meal until she poops always reward with treats and plenty of praise also something that worked for me if she has a sertain place she likes to go like in the living room or the kitchen feed her there and maybe leave a bowl there that she likes to eat out of a dog wont poop where he eats always remember to put her out after play time young dogs have a to pee after they get excited hope that helps and good luck

Ps if that doesnt work concidering she is a toy poodle and so small you might want to try pee pee pads or litter box training the pads usually work better for small pups

Wrong! Do not rub the nose of a dog in their urine or feces. You could kill it with feces! All you really have to do is as the Master is be more patient. Don't yell at her, trust her without the leash, control the amount of food and water she needs. Do not express displeasure after 20 seconds of your poodle doing it's business in the wrong area. All dogs have a 20 second +- memory retention of their previous act. What you need to do is record each time she drinks and eats, urinates and deficates. If you see a shorter span in time after exercise of any kind record that time, Once you get Bellas' timeline down you need to lead her to the paper and wait. Place the paper strategically near the back (exit)door so she knows and learns the direction and area where to do her business. Be patient and consistent to this point. Repeat the words(pee pee or poo poo) or whatever name you like given the bodily function she is doing at the time, everytime. Then praise her everytime after completion. You can try a treat to reinforce it, but praise or a favorite toy will do the same. The trick is to migrate out the door with the newspaper along with the phrase do you want to go "outside and (pee pee or poo poo)let her face the door prior to this stage. Get her anticipating her interest in going outside.(their world is through their nose and for a dog not to like going outside.....?????) Pretty soon, do to her known drinking and eating schedule you will know when to say "Bella do you need to go outside and go (pee pee or poo poo). Remember you trained that intelligent dog to do exactly what you wanted it to. She can learn up to 50 words or more if you are consistent.Worst thing you can do is make a dog fear you. Praise and patience goes a lot longer.

Pitbulls are usually purchased by guys with small weannies.

Are you cleaning the area where the Bella urinates with a cleaner that elimates the urine smell, like Nature's Miracle or Un-Duz-It. This must be done first, dogs have a strong sense of smell and like to urinate in the same place. Do not use an amonia based product it will just draw the dog back to the same spot.

When outside choose the spot were you want her to do her business carefully and she should be taken out on leash to the same designated spot each time.

This is not walk time or play time; stand in approximately the same spot and wait for your Bella to do her duty. If she does, praise her enthusiastically. Don’t immediately rush back into the inside with her. Because she will learn to hold on and not eliminate so that she can get more time outdoors. Instead walk a few minutes or give her a minute or two of playtime.

When she has successfully peed and pooped outside, don’t fully clean up the spot, but leave a trace of urine or feces to provide a scent that will remind her what she is supposed to do there.

If you actually catch your dog in the act of eliminating inside the
house, interrupt her and take her outside to the proper place (without harsh words or punishment). If she eliminates outside, praise her. Remember to be patient, some dogs take longer than others to housebreak.

Learn to use the same simple words for accidents and for praise.

"Nah nah" or "No", for accidents.

"GOOD GIRL" or "GOOD DOG" or "GOOD (name)" Praise with joy and enthusiasm in your voice. Smile!

Eventually you can get her to go on demand, by teaching her simple words for elimination like "Do It"
If you are consistent, watchful, and use the crate, a dog can usually be housebroken in couple of weeks.

I as well have a toy poodle. Here is a great website I found about housebreaking and tons of other info aimed at toy poodles. Hope it helps.

You should also not "rub her nose in it" that is mean and gross. Puppies learn better with praise than punishment.
Try reading on the link I provided you. Good luck.

Well I know that some dogs take longer than others to house train but be patient and she'll get there, just don't give up then you'll have poop everywhere! But yeah my doggie's like that and we give her a treat when she goes outside so that should be a hint of encouragement to use the bathroom outside oh yeah and she needs discipline, don't go and abuse her but let her know who's boss!!!!

Feed the poodle to the gators or coyotes.

Get a real dog. Get a pitt bull.

i trained my puppy with newspaper.... i put it in kitchen my puppy was afraid to go outside.. but she learned that the newspaper was ok so i bought those puper training pads and put them under newspaper and little by little moved them to the door and then outside.. she is now 3 and does not go in my house at all.
you might not want to make her water available to her whenever she wants it... they say puppies go potty half hour after eating so maybe time the ouside potty to when she eats
