No, there are different types of memory out there, and each one is different. If you have a new computer(2005-6) DDR or DDR2 is probably what you want. Also there are different clock speeds at witch the memory runs at, so you need to check in you motherboard manual or check at the manufactures website. Or you could find out the speed of your current memory by getting a program called "cpuz" (just google it) and buying the same type. I hope this helps.

It depends what do you want to put

RAM- yes you can buy RAM to increase the speed of your computer(but every RAM is different i don't know what RAM you need in your computer)(read the manual or contact the microsoft or contact the company of your computer like hp, dell)

Harddrive- yes you could increase your harddrive if you download music or movies alot.

Either memories you can put into you computer

nope, deppends ons the archiquecture of the pc you cand use:
simms (ols very old pcs)
dimm pc100 (pentium 1 until 3)
dimm pc133 (pentium 3 and somep4)
rimm (some socket 427 for P4)
ddr in 266 300 400 Mhz depending of the MoBo

You either take the recommendations given be the first two respondents and install the correct memory in your PC or you take it to a reliable shop and have them do it for you.
