What do you call interior doors split in the middle (top and bottom) ... so you can open the top only?

Question

We are looking to purchase one of those old-fashioned interior doors where the top half of the door can be opened, leaving the bottom half of the door closed. WHAT are they called? (And can anyone suggest where to purchase one?) (We will be using it to keep dogs out of one room, but still giving the kitty cats access ... they can jump up to the half-door sill!)

dutch doors, or sometimes, stable doors

ive never seen one for sale, i think youll have to hire a carpenter to do it custom-work, or do it yourself if your handy. I used to have one on my shetland pony stable when i was a boy.

"Dutch Doors", especially if there's glass (usually with thick joins/'leadlights' or lots of small panes) in the top half.

Otherwise either 'Dutch' or "Stable" if both halves are solid.
