i am 26 weeks pregnant and lately in a lot of pain in the lower tummy. It hurts to lay down. I am able to lay down for a bout 30 seconds before i can't take it anymore and sit right back up.so just imagine how my sleep is!! I dont get any! Then pain has been there for over 2 days now. Could this all be from ligament pains? or should i be worried about it being something else?

It MAY be ligament pain... this is very common. any pain is scary in pregnancy, and regardless, you should call your doctor in the morning, and give him/her your symtoms, even confide in him/her your fears and whatnot, they may be able to schedule you a appointment very soon to monitor the babys heart. another thing-- in what position do you sleep? after the third month, you CANNOT lay on your back, and not usually your stomach. laying on your back makes the baby and large uterus lay on major arteries, and surrounding organs. this can very much be the cause if that is the case. change your position, lay on your side hugging a pillow, with a extra pillow between your thighs tonight. call your doc in hte morning, and the best of luck to you. one other thing-- try not to stress mentally about the pains, it is not good for you or Baby. :) once more, good luck.

I am 22 weeks pregnant and experiencing the same thing. My doc said it was ligament pain. I was in so much pain this morning I couldn't roll over or sit up for a half hour. Tylenol can help a little. Try a body pillow or pregnancy pillow to support your abdomin while laying down. Also try laying on your left side. Good luck!

Ive had 5 children and I remember several of the aches and pains. My only guess is that the baby is lying in such a way that is causing you pain as well as your ligaments stretching. If its constant pain, it might be ligaments but sharp sudden pain could be something more serious.

Make sure you tell your care provider about it. In the meantime, I would suggest hot compresses to the area. If that doesnt work, try cold. I would also try being on your knees with your chest to the bed with while up onyour knees since it helps move the baby off your pelvis.

I hope you get relief and rest soon.

I am 25 weeks pregnant and had a feeling similar to this on tuesday. I thought it was ligament pain after a strenous holiday weekend. But it was way below my uterus...And it felt some what better while laying down (not as mush pressure down there when I did that but it still hurt). I was concerned so I called the dr. yesterday...It turns out that I haev a UTI or Urinary Tract Infection.........IF not treated it can affect the baby and your kidneys so call your doctor first thing in the morning. If the pain is totally unbearable call the uncall dr. onight or go to the ER or Labor and delivery. Better to be safe than sorry! COngrats!!!

FYI if you do have a uti try also getting some cranberry juice to help clear it up..it is gross but it worksQ try getting a flavored one and drink ir slushy cold....get in the habit of drinking it on a daily bases from now on (advice from my mom..mother of 5!!!!)

Try sleeping on your side with your top knee resting on a pillow Ito keep your legs kinda parallel ... I found my pelvis would ache by the end of the day towards the end of pregnancy ...do you still feel the pain if you are in a warm bath ? if you don't .....it might point to the pain being due to the ligaments In warm water you feel less gravity... See your care giver /doc/midwife they are trained to deal with these things Another possibility is that these are braxton hicks pre labour contractions ... happy birthing

in my opinion i would say get to the doc asap, it may just be stretching pains but it could be a lot worse, like i told my husband during my pg i'd rather be safe than sorry!!! my friend lost her baby because she didnt seek medical attention when she was in pain she had the baby really early it weighed 1 pound 4oz and he lived for 4 days... im not trying to scare you, im just saying i think it would b best to get checked out just to be safe. if u need to talk my email is candyas1@insightbb.com

Yeah they're just cramps try stretching your legs out more during the day and walk a lot it helps and when you're have a cramp try pushing your foot against the wall to stretch it out to make the cramp stop.

Hopefully you are under the care of a doctor. You should report this to him/her and let them be certain that nothing is wrong with the pregnancy. It's better to be safe than sorry. Good luck!

if you've been having a lot of nookie nookie when your knocked up perhaps by your pimp... then that may be the reason. CAUTION... if you have sex when you are knocked up your baby WILL have dimples... how else do you think they got there...
