When he retires sometime in 2007, presumably around May or June when the traditional season ends, there should be a casting call for his replacement. If not, maybe the producers & directors of the show will have someone in mind to offer the position to without audtions.

He stated on CBS news, at least locally here in Southern California, that he wishes for the next host to know all the games well & how they are all played, especially since that's been the biggest key to his success. Not to mention his outgoing humor & personality.

I sincerely hope whomever is chosen to replace him does well. I'd hate to see the show falter for a few months or years, then be cancelled because the replacement wasn't up to Bob Barker's standards of excellence or he/she couldn't fill his shoes exactly how the viewers expect. I remember the evening version hosted by "The Young and the Restless" soap actor, Doug Davidson. It floundered for several weeks & was eventually cancelled. He did his absolute best with the show but it just wasn't the same. I think because Bob was still hosting the daytime version it didn't bring in the primetime audience that was needed to keep the show going.

We as viewers need to remember Bob Barker is well into his 80s & he should be allowed to retire after 35 years on TPIR & 40+ years on television. We have to give the new host a chance to keep the show going, maybe taking it in a new direction with a different personality.

i've got not got faith Bob Barker can be replaced. The manufacturers will attempt to change him, yet after a season or maybe 2, the tutor would be long previous. the fee is physically powerful will in no way make it without Bob. he's to a lot a factor of the tutor. the two purely flow jointly.

I sure hope not! He is too good to be replaced. Let the show retire too. That big old wheel makes me seasick!

He's supposedly retiring this spring but I don't know whether or not they are replacing him. He has big shoes to fill but it would be nice to see a different face on there.

He said that this was going to be his last season, then he is going to retire. He'll probably hang up the show after he retires, he's had quite a long run at it...

I don't think he should be replaced. I love the show but it wouldn't work with anyone else.
