Yes there is a difference between ghosts and spirits.

A ghost attaches to people, things and places and will only visit only one person or place at a time
Likes electrical items, running water, rocking chairs and chiming clocks
Ghosts like a favorite odor—flower or perfume and are consistant with phantasms or ectoplasma. Ghosts are usually remenants of souls which refuse to pass for an unknown reason
Ghosts have the ability to take on a physical form

A Spirit...

Attaches more to people than places or things and visits multiple family members at a time for either good or evil
Likes electrical items, running water, rocking chairs and chiming clocks on occasion. A spirit can be felt within the body as well as out side it. Spirits do not take a physical form. A spirit is trapped and cannot move on usually because spirits have had no soul to begin with.

Ghosts are beyond doubt, energies. This to these nay sayers is proved fact. Ghosts can and have been recorded. People should quit closing their minds so that they can discover.
The word Ghost covers different entities. the most recorded entities fall under residual hauntings and Bennegot (lost spirits).
Residual hauntings are normally ghosts that have no idea that they died. Residual hauntings are also spirit residue left behind by the living.
Bennegots are those that had no faith and became stuck. unaware of what to do.
Guardian Spirits are those that wish to protect loved ones. Normally family or friends are protected by guardian spirits.
Care takers are spirits that so love an area they wish to take care of it and all that dwell there. Care takers also become irritated and do paranormal things to chase people away.
Angry haunts. Overly upset spirits that do not wish to move on or be bothered by the living. These are the most common of scary ghosts and the most often reported. they are also the least often found. They know how to stay out of reach.
Not all ghosts are spirits. Some are paramagnetic disturbances often odd fields in the Earths geomagnetic forces. Our Bioelectrical fields receive these fluxes and we perceive specters. The specters are called ghosts but in reality they are just misperceived energies our magnetic and electrical forces clashing with the earth's geomagnetism or geo-electric impulses.
We also create Ghosts with excessive electrical emissions. power lines and power terminals interrupt our bioelectrical and biomagnetic fields. forcing misperceptions of specters.
Finally we have the poltergeist. This is a created entity. It is most often made by pubescent youth that for one reason or other put of extreme kinetic energies. Feelings like angst, anger, depression and betrayal create the atmosphere in which these phenomena occur.
So. all spirits are ghosts, all spirits are specters.not all ghosts and specters are spirits.

"The English word "spirit" comes from the Latin spiritus, meaning "breath"
A ghost is usually conceived as a wandering spirit from a being no longer living, having survived the death of the body yet maintaining the mind and consciousness. "

According to wiki, one of the metaphysical versions for a spirit would be called a ghost.

I think each and every one of us has a spirit, but that ghosts only manifest themselves - if their souls are trapped here on earth. I've never seen a ghost, but I've had some weird things happen. I definitely believe in spiritualism.

Yes! A ghost is whats left after your body dies. If it chooses not to go where it's supposed to. A spirit is generally prebirth or before there has been a unity with a body.

A ghost is the spirit of a dead thing. Other spirits may have came to be (like angles) where nothing has died at all.

in definition yes. ghosts haunt, spirits visit. in a haunting, unwanted things happen, in a visit, there's only watching and maybe some kind of communication. but, from experience, they're all the same. spirits, ghosts, and entities. its just a name really.

from what I've heard and read ghosts are like a recording of a person or event that happened which left a pyschic imprint. Ghosts are like echoes not entities.

Spirits are entities with will and purpose for good or bad.

A ghost is a person who has died but hasn't made it to the "other side". A spirit is someone who has made it to the other side but comes back to give you assurance or a message. Just relating what I have heard.
