It really doesnt matter the music style, I just dont want it to be mainstream. I dont want the same songs everyone else has......So when Tim McGraw pops in your head, skip it and give me the one nobody else knows.

thanks,

From Here to Eternity by Michael Petersen. Its an amazing song, it sings about "From here to eternity, I'm asking you to, share your life with me, now and forever, I'll guarantee I'll always stand by your side..." . Also, Thank You by Tori Amos talks "Inspiration, is what you are to me.... if the sun refused to shine, I would still be loving you, if mountains crumbled to the sea, there would still be you and me". I h ad both songs at my wedding because they are not well known songs at all. The DJ actually had to borrow my copy because he couldnt find them!

Try anything by Gershwin.

"Here, There and Everywhere" is a great choice, though. It's actually all McCartney. He's written a large number of other songs that would be equally suitable, including but certainly not limited to "My Love" and of course, "Maybe I'm Amazed". You can find all three of them on the second disc of his "Back in the US 2002" CD, so that you can listen and see if any of them is what you want.

Really, though, try your song, the song that you and your fiance consider to be your song. What could be more appropriate for any couple's first dance than "their" song? It's not about it being mainstream or not being mainstream, it's about it being yours.

This may sound stupid or over the top, but some Ramones songs would be good or Johnny Cash. I can't list specifics, but those are two "bands" to check out.

Brian McKnight. He is the best singer to serenade you. Any song he sings puts you in a romantic mood. I have dreams of him singing at my wedding some day.

Anything by Jim Brickman. "This Gift", or "Beautiful(as you)" would work really well.
Also consider "Forever In Love" by Kenny G.
