Courting is a old school term used to describe today what we call dating it tends to lead to a relationship, serious relationship, then eventually marriage there is no time limit to this as every
couple is different and things can move fast or slow or somewhere in between.
As in any dating it is used to get to know someone better
as in likes dislikes etc. Remember this was also used as terminology back in the middle ages like the times of King Arthur and Camelot courting has been relabelled as stated above.

Courting is and old fashioned word for "going out" or " going together", it means you are dating and it is to get to know each other better and can lead to marraige or break up, depends on how you like each other.

courting is like the mating dance....I guess it must vary from culture to culture, as far as what is correct and acceptable, but it generally goes like this:

guy notices girl- girl notices back or ignores guy.
guy gets attention of girl - girl gives attention, or decides to pass
guy persues girl - girl accepts persuit, or shows disfavor
they hook up, with either marriage or moonlight.
