I am just curious because I set my alarm for almost an hour before I need to wake up, to snooze up to 5 times. Is this easier on the body or if I go a week or so just snoozing once will I feel less tired during the day? Basically am I costing myself an hour of sleep each day by breaking it up 5 times?

You are being worse on your body by hitting the snooze. The interrupted sleep you are getting doesn't allow enough time for you body to sleep deep enough for it to make a difference. It would be best to set your alarm for the actual time you need to get up, but if you really need to hit snooze, try to limit it to just once.

I do the same thing you do. It helps me because I wake up more gradually and completely. If I get up without hitting snooze I'm walking into walls. I usually hit snooze 5 times and wake up over 45 minutes.
The only problem with that is I'm going to get married next year and I don't think my better half will appreciate this habit.
Just do what works for you. The same rules never apply to everyone. I function better this way regardless of what any study says. I can't be the only one.

You will get better sleep if you just set the clock and limit yourself to one snooze if you like the idea of snoozing. Otherwise, you are wasting an hour because of the interruptions.

I hit the snooze button once. That extra 10 minutes is usually enough.

just once. everytime yu get up to hit the snooze alarm, yur body uses more and more energy.

if you really feel good once you have taken the shower or bath then whatever you are doing is just fine! its always different things for different folks.
