and I've lost faith in humanity to be smart. not saying that I'm smart or any better than anyone else, but I feel like I've heard everyone's crap a thousand times before and it's very unimpressive.
if someone can offer me something new and insightful to think about, that'd be great.
feel free to IM me with it, if you'd like to hold a convo.

There was a lawyer who was approached by a kid who wanted to study the law. The lawyer agreed and even offered the student free lessons till he wins his first case.

The years went by, the student got bored, and decided to quit. Feeling cheated the lawyer took the student to court asking for the student to pay him.

The lawyer stood before the judge and said " There is really no reason for us to continue. If your judgement is in my favor, then the student has to pay me, and if it is in his favor, then he would have won his first case, and also must pay me."

The student stood next and said "There really is no reason for us to continue. If your judgment is in my favor then I owe this man nothing, and if it is in his favor, then I would never have won and thus again owe him nothing."

How would you decide as a judge?

Try thinking about some of the assumptions you make about what humanity is, and what it should be. Is there any reason for us to be "smart?" Will it continue to offer, in the long run, a survival advantage, or will the conditions of existence be such that those with borderline retarded IQs will be the optimal human specimens?

Of course you feel you've heard everyone's crap repeatedly. Even in Ecclesiastes we are told that there is nothing new under the sun, and there have been incredible changes since that time - making it even more likely that most everything that could be thought or said has been thought or said. It isn't so much a matter of coming up with original thoughts, but of bringing together a number of ideas in novel ways. Even if the new creation that results from a marriage of disparate ideas is idiotic, it may hold some amount of insight, and could provide the basis for a deeper view of existence further on.

Try to look back on the history of life and the universe through the perspective of evolution. Examine your own perceptions and thoughts with the idea that the reality you experience isn't real, but isn't an illusion either - it is the result of billions of years of accumulated accident, with those accidents that aided survival being favored over those that hindered it. Even if you don't see the world as it "really" is, you experience it in a way that is "true" to those billions of years of evolution.

The best way to gain insights into existence is to question your premises, and those of others. At the root of every logical argument there is something taken for granted, and it is the recurrent premises that you can find the articles of faith that all humanity share.

Although all humans crap by necessity, it would be a mistake to believe that their nature was limited to that particular activity.
I like the suggestion about running and yogurt. Although that may not be your thing.
I believe you probably refer to the existence of deceitfulness and to the despair one feels at seeing promises - real or imagined - broken. You are probably disappointed because you believe others have more strength than yourself and therefore see yourself as constantly victimized.
But people more often act egoistically by lack of inner strength. You must first learn to be self-reliant. Then can you find pity for the shortcomings of others.

Insightful...join the club. Only when humanity is forced with extinction will it do the right thing. I have no disappointment in humanity and see it for what it is. When we run out of resources and have polluted are environment to the extent the sun no longer shines..... We will do the right thing. When their is nothing left to fight over and faced with death...... We will band together and explore the universe......Think about the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow.

Humanity as a whole has always been a gigantic cross section of morons, that's just human nature. I think on the whole though, humanity has advanced a great deal from where they started. Think about this; if you had said this out loud a couple hundred years ago, they might just burn you as a witch (as they did with a large majority of free thinking women).

you literally invested your Faith in humanity and you lost it...Very common mistake...How it feels to lose a faith you know now...it is painful..and obviously weakening.well, it is not about humanity...it is about your own faith placed ignorantly into...It does not mean that humanity does not deserve of your Faith...there still promising parts of humanity where your Faith will make a difference...and if you are close to those people then it won't be loses... Always, if you invested, keep positive, otherwise your faith will empower that parts of a structure which you dislike. Your Faith is a creative energy , which acting upon your own attitude and judgment...Judge not. Have you heard that?

Think about how amazing it is that you can even think these thoughts. You are thinking about thinking. That, my friend, is simply amazing.

Don't give up on humanity. Even people who aren't "smart" still have wonderful insightful things to say about life. Maybe you shouldn't be such a snob (no offense). When listening to people talk about anything try to forget about your differences and just listen to them. They have unique things to say. Everyone lives a different life, and just hearing about that should be enough for you, because... that's all we have really.

contemplate the meaning of life...
or observe how people react in social situations...example- if youre in a group of people discussing an issue, pick out a person who seems to just be "going along with the group" and not inputting their own, different opinions. after a few days have gone by and no one seems to be talking about it anymore, have a very casual one on one meeting with this person and casually bring it up. and see what this person says, if they really do have an opinion but they were just too insecure to defy the rest of the group! this is fun.

You can channel your frustration into producing great things. The first thing that comes to mind is that you can write down "everyone's crap" and show why they are crap. You compile them, come up with a nifty title and send it to a publisher. There are a lot of people, actually almost everyone of us, who are tired of other people's crap; we are your poential readers!

Good luck!
