Found out my niece is smoking pot. What could I possibly say to her to make a difference enough to stop?

Nothing really, you can try to tell her that smoking pot decresses a woman's fertility (true) it also kills of brain cells that do NOT come back (true). But alcohol kills brain cells as well...and boozing is still acceptable.

"The next time I catch you with this stuff I'm calling the cops." Don't bother saying it when she's stoned, because she won't care. Make durned sure she can't go anywhere or do anything while she's high. It's the same as handling a drunk, after all. If you find the above statement too harsh for your soft heart, point out that alcohol and drugs are the leading cause of AIDS and pregnancy among teens. Pot makes you fat, because it makes you hungry. Pot also makes you think other drugs are okay to use, and other stupid things, like you'll never get caught.

Just talk to her and find out whats going on. If someone would've talked to me maybe I would kicked my cigarette addiction years ago. I started smoking black and milds at 14 then weed, then finally cigarettes. I stopped smoking weed at 16 had a bad run in with the cops. But, I am 19 now and I'm smoking a cigarette as I type.

nothing, it is a necessary phase of life. if she is below age of 16, i would tell her "When you get in the real world of day-to-day life, you will actually NEED that stuff to get you through the first couple of years, so you might as well not start now just because your friends are doing it."

from some one aged 22 living in that real world, i can tell that 80% of people aged 18-21 smoke pot. sounds unreal? what if i told you that 80% of people that age drink alcohol. ahh, now you can believe that, so believe it about the pot, its just a drug just like alcohol is a drug (and a far worse one at that)

Tell her smoking pot will increase her appetite, thereby increasing her weight. Boys won't like her because she'll be a fat stoner, and girls will laugh at her for precisely the same reason. She'll end up a recluse and move to Pittsburgh.

if she's smoking pot i'm sure she's old enough to know the effects and you telling her to stop isn't going to work
you could tell her that there's a possibility that she'll die younger, but what's that going to do? kids still go tanning and they know there's a possibility of skin cancer.
kids will be kids and even if she tells you she'll stop, she'll sneak around you and keep doing it
did you ever smoke pot? if so, what made you stop?

Sit down and have a talk ask her is there something going on in her life that are making her do the careless mistakes then tell her how dangerous it is and can also put her jail by it so don't start getting anger by yelling at her saying what are you thinking just relax and just sit down

Pot's actually not as addictive or harmful as cigarettes OR alcohol. It's just illegal, and probably only because the government hasn't come up with a way to tax it. Not a very convincing argument, I know, but that's just how I feel.
