Read up on Latin. Your local bookstore should have some books on the Latin language. If your school has a Latin teacher, ask if you can meet with him/her to just go over some basics. This will help on verbal.
Also, study. Use those ACT study books they sell at the bookstore.

if you havent yet go to a bookstore and pick up an ACT study book, they're expensive but you could go in together and just study, study, study.
