Anyone know of any old wifes tales about predicting the sex of a baby when you are pregnant?

Put a plain gold ring on the end of a strand of your hair. Hold it above your wrist or thigh. Make it got up and down six times. It (supposedly) will spell out all your children from the first to the last. If it spins it is a girl if it swings it is a boy. Touch it to your skin after each one and make it go up and down again before the next. Have fun with that.

They say if you are carrying the baby high, that it will be a boy. It is also said that if you refuse to eat the crust on your bread then it is a girl, if you like the crust, then it is a boy. It is fun to read about all of this, but the only real way to tell, is to wait and see! I had 15 ultrasounds with my last pregnancy, and they told me that 100% it is a girl. We even had a name picked out and had a pink dress at the hospital............well, I have the cutest little BOY now, and would not trade him for anything. Even the doctor was shocked when he pulled him out! So, even the ultrasound can be wrong. Good luck!

Yeah...one was suspending a needle point down on a white thread (had to be white couldn't be any other color) Then giving the needle a spin. If the needle rocked straight up and down the lenght of the pregnant belly it was a boy...if it rocked sideways it was a girl...can't tell you how many of my friends had a needle go up and down and wound up bringing home a little PINK bundle of joy LOL

Boy: carry low, crave cheese or meat, hands are dry and chapped, dream about knife or hatchet, drop a penny down your back and it lands on heads, hang your wedding ring overyour belly from a strand of your hair and it swings side to side
Girl: crave sweets, dream about spring and parties, you have an acne breakout, you prefer the middle of a bread slice and not the crust, you rest on your right side

there was study of 100 pregnant women who did not find out the sex of their baby. They all wrote down what they thought the baby was and 95 were correct.... A mother's instinct.... :-)

yes, from the older generation, they thought if the mom's belly stuck straight out it was a boy. If the mom's belly was side to side big, it was a girl. Not accurate at all.

(these are not my opinion!! jsut stuff people have said to me or I have read)
1. Women who are pregnant with girls dress more feminine (not true for me! with my son, i dressed really feminine.. with my daughter, I dressed really casual!)
2. Women who are pregnant with males eat more, and have a bigger appetite while pregnant (actually true as far as my pregnancies went... with my son I ate like a horse.. with my daugher I ate like a bird)

like if you have a round belly like the shape of a basketball, you can have a girl
if you are carrying very low and your stomach is stretching out far, you can have a boy
