After he got suspended for using steroids, do you think he should be able to get these things?

He wasnt necessarily caught using steroids, he was caught using a banned substance! The moron took a supplement without asking his trainer or the league if it was ok! That was dumb! He shouldnt get any awards or acclaim for being a moron!! The league has a list of suppplements that you can take, take one of those and you are fine!
Bottom line though, no, he shouldnt get awards in a season where he broke the rules!

Absolutely not. Positive steroid test - no Pro Bowl, no post season awards of any kind. I'd even go one step further...he is ineligible to play in any post season (playoff) games in the season in which he tested positive. Let's make the penalities really hurt both the players and the teams they play for. Then maybe the temptation to cheat will not seem like a viable option for the players and the team itself will put added pressure on players.

This year? Yes, there's no rule against it.

In the future? I think the owners should add ineligibility for Pro Bowl and POY honors to the penalties for a failed drug test, and it probably will be an issue if Merriman wins Defensive POY

No. he has been banned for taking an illegal substance. That means that the nfl are saying you can cheat and still be rewarded. What sort of example is that setting to other players and young people who idolise the likes of Merriman.

Yes, he tested positive back in August, which means he played the entire season without using the tainted supplement. He is the best, so why not reward him for being the best player in his position?
