Bollywood movies have 5-6 songs in a movie. But Hollywood movies dont have even single song......only Background music.......why...........

gud question...as holly movies dont have songs..they are short..(upto 2 hrs.)but bolly has songs so they are longer..(upto 3 hrs..)
..Bolly movie makers are clever...even if hindi movies dont have stories they sell b'coz of their songs.....whreas holly movies try to be more practical in terms of songs....u must have noticed...there r songs played in the background in holly muvees...they dont waste time..and keep the audiences glued to their seats for more than 2 &1/2 hrs.the story proceeds along with the songs ...its a gud feeling..and a different emotion...both r gud in their aspects...

They have moved away from this quite some time back. Earlier you had songs in hollywood movies.
Second most important reason is that we in india love to see songs... item numbers
