Personally, I dont think Saddam deserves his fate. It upsets me, and I cannot believe that we - a 'civilised' society can endorse this!
That said, I believe that there are other more 'worthwhile' conflicts that we in the West should be involved in.
Take for example the situation in parts of Africa. Entire villages are massacred by warlords. I would find it unacceptable for myself, or one of my children to 'fight' in Iraq. However, I would find it easier to accept, going to Africa to help these innocent villagers. Why are we not there? That is something we could be proud of. These people need our help. They are asking for our help. Yet we ignore it!
How about Russia? Poisoning off its ex-citizens. Is this acceptable?
How about North Korea? Cutting itself off from the rest of the world. HE is a dictator - and yet - nothing.
How about the middle east countries that do not allow its women to drive, leave the house unaccompanied by a male or even get an education? Where are our troops helping to 'liberate' these poor women?
How about India with its gut wrenching poverty?
There are so many nations that require - and want - our help! Why are we in Iraq?

We cannot change past history. We can only learn from it. If you think he deserves that fate. What makes you really think so?
