What would you wear with a long, indigo gathered-skirt?

It's really long, like it almost touches the ground, and I think it's called a peasant skirt or something. I got it from my sister, who made it for me, but I have no idea what to wear it with. Any ideas?

Wear a small t-shirt or tank top. One that has shorter sleeves, and comes to right above the skirt. I would wear flat, sandal like shoes, and carry a bag that matches the skirt or shirt, and looks kind of hippy-ish. Good luck!

Usually, if one part is covered, it looks esthetically pleasing to keep another part more exposed.

For instance, with your long skirt, it will look too severe if paired with a long-sleeved blouse.

It is more esthetically pleasing when arms are exposed, such as a spaghetti strap top, a tank top or a short-sleeve shirt. If you are to wear a button-down shirt, instead of buttoning it, please wear an inner shirt and tie the button-down shirt around your waist. A bandanna worn as a headband (from the top of your head to the nape) is a nice touch.

Shoes: flats such as espadrilles, ballerina styles, open-toed sandals.

Bag: Blue and/ or white short strappy bag.

Viola! Nautically inspired.

As for color: indigo is a deep color, a classic color to pair it with is white as the white increases the intensity of indigo.

I wear stuff like that all the time! Try a black or white tank top. With such a "big" skirt, you will want to wear an understated and literally small shirt.

A peach-colored top made out of a similar material, cotton or something light would provide a similar look in texture but the contrast would make the outfit look visually appealing.
