Here is my situation: I have a slim PS2 in one room and two computersin another room. The old computer is hooked up to a sbcyahoo dsl 2wire modem via USB and the newer computer via ethernet. I have one 100 ft. cable going from the modem to the PS2 and the other to connect the newer computer. I bought this other one because another user of the computers wanted to protect the older ethernet cable from becoming unstable and worn due to reconnecting and disconnecting. My question is, How can I connect all 3 at the same time with convenience and not ruin and wear out the ethernet cable connections? Maybe an ethernet switch or hub? Please give me any other methods and opinions you have. Thank you. -gamertag = BURNINATORO Zach

Just purchase a 4 port ethernet hub and run a cable to each computer. your dsl/router should handle the ip addressing if it is DHCP enabled.

An ethernet hub would be my answer. It is the easiest solution to share a wired connection across computers. The wireless router I bought my folks (for all of $20 on eBay) also serves as a four port wired hub. So, if you wanted to shell out the cash you could add the convenience of wireless for when you got a PSP or DS Lite or laptop that could use it ...

you can connect via 3 ways: a hub (poor performing), switch (best performing), or a router (the optimal performing), the badnews is the router need some configuration you can buy one with wireless option so you can use the psp or anything you want, and use the 4 or more wire ports (depends on the model you buy).
there other way and its use 2 network adapters in a pc and use the "middle pc" as a link, the badnews is that you need a turn on pc to have internet in the ps2 (assuming the ps2 is in the end of the chain), so you save some money in wire, but lost in your electrical bill. in my experiencethe router is the best solution and the configuration iseasy if you have the manual

Buy a router and stop unpluggin that crap all the time! You will also need a nic card for the pc you had hooked via usb! You cant run usb and ethenet both! Dont waste your money on a hub or switch either!
