I just booked a cruise out of San Diego on Carnival and am wondering if the $32 per person transfer fee available from Carnival is the best deal for me or if there are better options? There are 4 of us in our group and so transfers from Carnival would be $128! Looking on a map it doesn't look like the airport is too far from the cruise ship terminal. I am thinking that a cab would be much more economical. Any advise would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

You are absolutely correct, you could almost walk the two miles!
Considering your luggage, one way cab fare is $8, slightly more
for the four of you. Is not Yahoo Answers for Free great? - Jack

Certainly the cab and even the southbound bus runs down Harbor Drive to Broadway..about where the cruise ships dock can't remember the route but it might be the 920 or the 912 just ask the driver it will be cheapest and the bus runs about every 20 minutes and stops right outside baggage claim and within walking distance of the cruise ships....

Yes it is a very short distance. A cab ride would be under $10. The only thing that might make it worth it is if they handle all your luggage for you. That is they guarantee the luggage from the airline to the Cruise ship and have it end up in your Stateroom. But even if that an extra 100+ still seems quite excessive.

The cruise ship terminals are straight down the road from the airport on Harbor Blvd. It would be much cheaper to just take a cab. It thinking it'll be less than $15 for all 4 of you! Another option would be Cloud9 shuttle http://www.cloud9shuttle.com

Take the San Diego transit bus for about $2.00. They run about every 20 minutes and will drop you right next to the cruise dokcing area on Harbor Drive. Not worth paying $10 (including the tip) for such a very short cab ride!
