One of the best players I believe in the league from a forward stand point is Jagr of the Rangers, he's big enough to deliver a hit, and is still a quick, powerful skater with marvelous puck handling abilities. He doesn't have the hardest slapshot, but he can snipe and pinpont courners with ease it seems. He also complains enough to the refs to draw a few calls that wouldn't normally be penalties

Martin Havlat (17 games 24 points), he scores his points. He is one of the fastest forwards in the NHL. Also he has made the Blackhawks fun to watch. Even though the owner of the team will not broadcast a home game in Chicago, unless it sells out.

As of today:
I would have to say Sid "The Kid" Crosby. Now that the Penguins could possibly moving to Hartford or Kansas City more people are watching to see where they end up. A lot of eyes are on the Penguins team in general.

Overall:
Wayne Gretzky's 92 goals in 80 games say's it all.

Wayne Gretzky stands out the most, because he was once rated the world's best hockey player. We are born on the same day but different years.

I believe that alexander ovechkin is the most dynamic player in the game right now ,he has the whole package ,skating, passing, shooting,he's very physical and he can come back on the puck maybe not the most talented right now but I thinks he's the most rounded and he's young,SCARY

Jagr in my books is the best, he can do it all. watch him play and you will understand what I mean. nobody goes after him cause he makes you look like a pylon, then out of the blue he scores or does a great pass. hes starting to score more goals his shoulder was still hurting him after the off-season shoulder surgery but he will definitely get over 130 points this season.

Only a couple people come to mind as those who may stand out - and these two skaters are ones I dislike the most: Darcy Tucker and Sean Avery. They may not stand out to most people but they easily draw attention to them and are a favorite to dislike.
This year, Ovechkin has been one to stand out to me primarily because of his rough, aggresive play. A scorer who does not mind being hit, or giving hits, is something I welcome.
