I do not have insurance, I work part time and a full time college student, I am 21 and married. But neither my husband or I, have insurance because we werent really planning on having a baby so soon. I know there is a lot of federal help out there for prenatal care, what are some options, medicaid, medicare? Im not sure exactly what to do, and where to look for any help would help, thanks so much

First try medicaid. It's a long process so start asap before you get too far along because some doctors won't see you. If you're denied find a state funded hospital and see what programs they offer. When I was in that situation there was something called The OB Pack which meant you paid a certain amount of money depending on what type of delivery you have. I ended up having an emergency c-section a month before my due date which could have cost over $20,000 but i only had to pay $3000. Which is still a lot but better than if we had just done nothing. Also, you can go ahead and apply for the baby to have medicaid after it's born. Good Luck

WIC is good for help with food, as far as insurance resources it depends on what's available in your state. I'd say look things up on the Internet, go to a free clinic and ask them what resources are available, for phone numbers, pamphlets, etc.
Good luck and try not to get too stressed =)

In my state, there is free insurance for pregnant women whose income is under about $2,000 monthly. Go to your local free health clinic, or Google "free pregnancy insurance in (your state here)"....you WILL get results. Good luck, and it's not too late to get insured! Having a baby is expensive....I don't know how they expect ANYONE to pay for all of it.
