Most universities have a lawyer on staff or on contingency that is available to graduate students for consultation, and sometimes even for representation.

When universities do not have such a staff, they will at least provide referrals to area lawyers.

Just look on your university's website under "legal services."

Well, I'm a lawyer and I presumably have answered questions from a grad student. I exist. Is that it or is there something else you wanted?
