Saints is a man made word. There are angels and then there are humans. They made the first saints with the deciples of Christ. And then everyone who the church thought lived a pure life and an exempliary life, like Saint Bernadette, and they locked her up and tortured her. (the Catholic Church) So go figure?
Humans if they are that good it does not make them an angel, they actually are doing what we are suppose to do in life. But because it is so rare they started making Saints out of people and never allow you to measure up to that until you are dead. So who would want to bother? It kind of made people feel less and kept them down, rather than lifting their spirits to have fun and live a little in happiness, they always had that morbid focus upon you and it was oppressive for society. Like I said the deciples, well they were all killed, Peter, and Paul? Great now they are Saints? If they were so good why kill them? It is a real study, good luck and happy new year

As a Catholic I believe in Saints. They are people who lived exemplary, selfless lives. I am sure there are some future saints walking amongst us but regarding your question that if they do in fact exist, doesn't it make us saints since we also exist - dogs exist, does that make them saints? You can't generalize like that.

Actually a Saint is someone who is recognized by the church as someone who as made it to heaven. While you have to be recognized by the church to be called a Saint by the folks on Earth it our goal eventually to all lead a life by which we will become Saints. That is to reach Heaven.

Yes, Virginina, Saints exist.
Pure unselfish kindness makes a saint.
No, we are not all Saints,
BUT we all can be saints with simple smile and kindness to others.

Mother Teressa and her works make her a candidate for saint hood.
After her death, rumor of miracle and proof of that miracle make her into a Saint.
So it's a faith thing, and if you got enough people to believe in you that they get pass a difficult situation by praying to you, then you're a Saint.

Saints are the peopole who make it into the Kingom of God. This is achieved by learning and understanding the gospel, and then obeying Him. These will be the saints, and no we are not all saints. Far from it.

Saints are not born saints. They are born like you and me. Grow up like you and me, physically. But , at a point of time in life , they outgrow us spiritually and the gap widens fast.Their faiths are strong. Their wants are limited. Their commitments are total. They share what they learn.
These are just the opposite of what all you and I do. At a point of time in life the gap between them and us is so much that we are ashamed of ourselves and start to rever them . WE elevate them to the level of saints. It is we who confer the degree of "saint" on them. They donot need our recognition.
If you want to be one of them( which you are) try making others see sainthood in you. That is the only way. There is , as yet, no Doctorate of saints in Stanford university!
