I will rephrase your question as follows:

"Is it possible for a gay male to change himself so that he is sexually attracted to females?"

The answer is No.

Sexual Orientation is designed into when you are born.

If you are feeling depressed about it, know that many gay men have gone through what you are going through. Stages of initial denial, then depression, then acceptance, and then finally pride and joy are common to most gay men.

Most of the so called "ex-gay" people are still attracted to males, but live celibate lives and are trying to convince themselves that they have been "cured". They pray a lot so that they can direct their minds away from sex. Those who live, or attempt to live, married lives are just fantasising about a guy when they are having sex with their wives. So don't go into that self-torturing state.

I dont think you can change your orientation. You can decide to be with someone the same or different gender, enjoy the sex for a period of time and the relationship but at some point you will want the person that falls within your sexual orientation. Its more stress mentally to try and change.

I never tried to change my sexual orientation because I never wanted to.

However I've read about people who have tried, mostly tortured Christian gay men who try and try to be straight. They inevitably fail because it doesn't seem like sexual orientation is changeable.

If you're looking for more info, I would reccomend the book "Anything but straight" by Wayne Besen or the documentary "Fish Can't Fly" or "One Nation Under God" (which is older but still good). I also enjoy the blog "Ex-Gay Watch" which can be found at http://www.exgaywatch.com/blog/index.html

It is possible to change your sexual behavior, but not your orientation. For example, if you are a straight man and you get married, you are supposed to stop having sex with all other women but your wife. That does not mean that you stop looking or fantasizing--you just change your outward behavior. A gay person likewise could stop engaging in sexual behavior, but they would still feel an attraction to people of the same sex.

NO! Sexual orientation is something everybody is born with! Unlike the one guy who answered your question you DO NOT choose if you are str8 or gay or bi that is the way you are born, that is the way God made you!
Contrary to what another person answered, (Anne Heche, Cynthia Nixon to name two) were never gay and if they are gay then now they are pretending to be str8. I know all about pretending to be str8, I am a gay male who had a very difficult time coming to terms with his true sexual orientation due to social pressures so I married a women which is when I quickly found out I had no sexual interest at all in women! Tho I was married to a women I was never str8, I was born gay and I have always been gay and I always will be gay. Nothing in human power can change somebody from gay to str8 or from str8 to gay it's just the way you are!

I went through a period just recently where I tried to suppress being gay in order to fit in within my guy friends, who are all straight. I began to see that changing orientation goes much further than changing one's attraction. They had pointed out mannserisms (sitting with a closed posture, the whole "limp wrist"), aspects of my temperment (a gentle, sensitive, caring one), and my sense of style to prove to me that being gay is more deeply ingrained in me than just sexual attraction. After making this point to me, I was told that I was accepted for who I was and that trying to force myself to be something different would only mess up my life.

Please remember that most of the people here who claim it is possible have absolutely no idea what it is to be gay. They just have a vague idea that being gay is like, say, liking chocolate ice cream over vanilla and one day you'll get tried of eating the same flavour and turn back to vanilla. They are just saying their vague notions that they have gathered from here and there.

Sexual Orientation is for life.

You can't change your orientation without supernatural magic. Even praying to innumerable Gods haven't changed orientations. You can ACT like whatever sexual orientation you want, but that doesn't make you that orientation. I'm sure any gay guy COULD have sex with a woman and any gay guy COULD have sex with a man, but why would they?

According to George W. Bush, it is. But again, the guy still cannot think his way out of a wet paper bag without the advice of his staff, so not really a reliable source. No, you cannot change that.

You cannot change your orientation but you can change or modify your behavior to reflect how you wish to be perceived by others. Mind you, not everyone will be accepting. Unfortunately, there are alot of bigots in this world.
