Don't you have a social worker that monitors your case? If so, contact her right away. At 17, you should still be in school as well. Talk to the school's councelor asap.

Are you saying that you are being abused in your foster home? If so do like I said. If you just want to leave for the sake of leaving then you will be a runaway.

No , she could be considered a run away. She can not leave until she is 18. The reasons she was put in a foster home are not relevant , the foster home has legal custody and need to act as parents which would include reporting her missing.

If you are put in a foster home, you may not leave without the permission of your social worker or the court. If you have been abused in the foster home, then you should report it to the police and they will get you out.

If you are in a foster home, why can't you talk to your case worker / special advocate / your attorney...? you should / must have two out of three of these! Is your foster home that horrible, or is it something else. It can't be that bad, if the case workers and such have left you there. Try talking to your worker / therapist...etc. But, no you are not a legal adult if a ward of the state till the age of 19...at least that is when the state stops your benefits.

Yes a 17yr old can move out and live on their own in WI. My own daughter did, esp if 171/2yrs old. No one will interfere with a young adult this age living on their own. Sate even has an independent living program for those 17+ wishing to enroll.

You would be considered a runaway until you were 18. I think you may lose any benefits as well but if there is no other way out of abuse then it is worth the loss
