I would call the police and then file a report he needs help and counseling. This is a way you can help him. There are too many people that are scared to do this and do not want to put someone they care for through the process, but if you do not he will continue to hit you and in some cases there are reports of deaths.

Go Al Green on him. Wait until he falls asleep then boil some grits. Pour a pot of hot grits all over his face and he'll never touch another human being again. Of course, you might end up in jail for that assault, so hopefully his hit on you left a mark so you can proof that you're in an abusive relationship. :-) Other than that, just leave him so you don't have to do something so harsh, then risk getting yourself into trouble. :-)

Get help and call the YWCA if you think he is coming after you again. NO ONE ever deserves to be hit! It is NEVER ok and he will do it again! Dont take any chances! 1/2 of all murdered women were killed by their boyfriends/husbands.

Chase him around the house with a butcher knife. I wouldn't cut him but I would make him think I was going to. Then I would leave the relationship. I have a child to think about.
