I basically hate myself for not doing more during high school and not making enough friends and I've given up and feel like this whole experience has been a failure. How can I get over it?

I graduated high school 2 years ago and haven't looked back since then. Forget about high school, you're almost out. Move on with your life, look to the future, and forget about the trivial happenings from high school. There is so much ahead of you.

Dont let this get you down. I graduated HS in June and i felt the same way. But let me tell you something about friends. Your friends in high school will not all remain friends after that. I have seen friends of many years not speak a word to each other after high school. You will find and meet new people who will be better friends and who you will make a long lasting friendship with. Its never too late to get involved at school. But even if you dont at this point in the school year, this will be but a very small part of your high school career. In the end, you dont pick at the small things. Theres a bigger picture that you will be looking at.
Dont beat yourself over it.I didnt. Im in college now, ive met other people who im very close friends with.

You cannot hate yourself. You could be mad at yourself but not hate. Don't think that way. Just be happy the day you receive your diploma and graduate. You made it. I'm a freshmen and sometimes I think that alot of things may happen and i will not be able to graduate. And that's the number one reason I worry about. Yeah it'll be great to have the whole school as friends but I don't think that's possible. I don't really worry about friends I just worry about my grades. To get A's and hopefully graduate. You shouldn't worry about anything. You got over those four years that I still need to go trough. You should be happy. Don't worry. Well good luck.

Have you ever heard the saying "Today is the first day of the rest of your life?" It's so true. You make choices for yourself every day. When you get back to school, make new choices. Join some clubs, reach out to people, try out for a team, audition for a play, whatever it is that appeals to you, do it! You can make friends at school, at work, by volunteering - anywhere there are people! Get over the past by being active in the present.

want to know the truth/ who cares cause in ten years you wont know any highschool friends. if you had made best buds you might be lucky in ten years to know one of them. same as in college. B U T the bad thing is you cant redo it. the great thing is you are but a lowly freshman next year in college. A brand new start. Your highschool experience is basically over. be nice and outgoing and practice for college. you might make some friends on your way out. If ya dont, like i said four more years in college and rest of life beyond that.

If you haven't made friends with a lot of people I believe it's for a reason. Maybe you don't have anything in common with them. Most of the people you meet in high school, ten years from now, trust me, most of them you won't hardy remember. Your foundation of friends can easily start in college, which is where a lot of circles of friends start. Good luck---You'll be fine.

well dont kick yourself over it. i know a lot of people in your situation. my advice to you is since your not into any sports or activities, go and find a job that u enjoy. make new friends there and go and hang out with them. you will most likely be working there longer than when u graduate, so u know you will be around them more. this will help with something to do and give u friends in the process

go to college. u'll get over it...and oh, by the way, if u basically flunked highschool, then...mmmm...don't expect to be very succesful...but if not and u did well in highschool acedemically and can get into a college or university, u can make all the friends u want and relive the experience u always wanted.

Try to start over again in college.
Start with the basics that you didn't do and are able to do now.
