About 8 days ago I was carring a box & tripped on some shoes, I didn't fall but I kind of stretched my right leg. It hurt at first but not that bad & it felt OK later. The next day it was OK, but after about 3 days my leg started to hurt only when I tried to pull my leg forward taking a step & it felt weak. After I would be walking around for a little while it got better. Every day sence it has gotten worse. Now I can't hardley walk. When I'm sitting down it feels fine.Does anyone know what it could be? I'm trying to get in to see a Dr. but it will be a few days untill I can get in & I'm getting worried. Thank You!!

I would say you injured a tendon or ligament, but it could be a muscle chain or knot/spasm too. It would have been a good idea to ice it right away, I don't know if you did or did not but right now heat is going to be your best bet, warm, moist heat applied right on the spot that hurts, you didn't say full leg, calf, or thigh area but put it on the area that gives you pain, try to massage the area too, use some pain creams like biofreeze, mineral ice, anything with menthol that will penetrate deeper. I would let the hot shower run on your leg too, and if you put the menthol based cream on after a shower it penetrates deeper. Try to get someone to massage your leg if you can, and you need to gently stretch it. If it's in the calf part, you want to do tip toes, which is standing on your tip toes and moving up and down. The stand with your hands on the wall and extend your leg out striaight with just toes on the floor, stretch it as far as you can, you'll feel the stretch. You can take ibuprofen for the pain and it's also good for inflammation, you can safely take up to 800mg 3 times a day but only for a few days it's rough on the stomach. The over counter dosage usually comes in 200mg so you could take 3-4 of those.
if it's still bother you in a few more days like after New years, be sure to see your doctor and get an xray.

I'm a nurse. You need to see a doctor right away. You don't want your bones to start healing improperly if it's broken. You are very important and you need to get the best care you can get, and that's a doctor. You need your leg and for it to function right. This could turn into something damaging or even a deformity. See a doctor or the ER for an x-ray. Also take some ibuprofen it will help with the swelling and relieve some discomfort. Use ice and elevated it as much as possible. Staying off the leg is also best. All the best.

Its most liking just a pulled muscle or torn ligament, nothing to worry about really. you should still see a doctor to make sure. but if it is what i think it is, just rest up and don't walk on it and it should get better
