sometimes mine does the same thing make sure it is plugged in correct then shut off the computer wait about 1 min and restart

Turn your computer, printer and any peripherals you may have connected to your system. Unplug the printer cable from both sides, give it about a minute, plug it back on both sides again, start you printer first then the rest of the peripherals one at a time and then start your computer. If this doesn't correct the problem, something must be wrong with your printer.

I went by many HP printers and have been given bored with the failure value. i've got had a Canon Pixma MP500 (multi-function device) for some 3 hundred and sixty 5 days now and that i'm very happy with it.

make sure the usb or serial cable is connected, and make sure the printers in on. Also, is it a network printer? Because if it is it, the computer might not be able to communicate with it somehow.

Does it have sufficient ink? My printer with one black and three color cartridges (blue, magenta, cyan) will stop in the middle of the page if just one of them runs dry.

has it got paper in it and is the paper draw closed as well as the toner hatch.
