I was wondering how you got pregnant with twins and so on. Were fertility drugs a part of it? Any way to increase ones chances of having a multiple pregnancy?

If no fertility drugs, then did you do anything special?

Yes, having fertility issues and I am getting ready to start the regimen of drugs. :-( Not happy about it, but we want a bigger family (we only have 1 kid now) I have endometriosis and now my cycles are about 60 days each....

I asked this question because I was curious about multiples and how some people end up having them.

I have a set of twins. My pregnancy was great. It was not with drugs. It is not in my family. I prayed to God. I know it sounds silly. But, I tell you, I did something that anyone else can do, pray. I carried the babies to FULL term! I NEVER had to go on bed rest. Every time I had an appointment, I was doing everything I could, because I was certain that I was going to be put on bed rest because, that is what I heard happens to ALL moms of multiples.....NOT me! I KNEW the day I got preg. that I was having twins. I told my Dr. and she said, " I think you are just farther along than you think....." I proved her wrong!!

The babies arrived Sept. 14th 2004 My daughter= 7lbs. 12oz. and my son=8lbs. 8oz.

You can do it and I hope you do! It is the best thing that has ever happened in my life! (I have no recollection of the first year, though) LOL
Good Luck to you, and I will pray it works for you too!!

No fertility drugs here. It's luck of the draw. Some studies say being overweight, older, and having a few kids increases your chances of twins. It has nothing to do with the man, or his family history. Fraternal twins is from the woman releasing two eggs. Identical is even harder, it is the splitting of one fertilized egg.

Twins are sweet, cute, and cuddly, but it isn't all rainbows and kittens. It is ALOT of work. Trust me.

Fertility drugs are the only way to increase your chances of having multiples, and these should only be taken if you are having trouble conceiving. The rest is up to genetics and luck (or bad luck, if you don't want multiples!).

i'm not a parent of a multiple but i am a parent of a preemie.. multiple births often end in premature birth and have a lot more complications. I wouldnt recommend "trying" to get pregnant with multiples. Most moms end up on bedrest at some point, or even throughout their pregnancies

My husband and I have twin girls that are now 5 months old. We had trouble conceiving and I used fertility drugs and eventually went through IVF. Honestly, it is pretty easy. If I knew then, what I do now, I wouldn't have stressed so much. Good Luck to you!
