The number is halfway which means that you should take it again or you might get lucky because some colleges do accept that number. You are on the right track!
The number ranges from 1-35. The score for your first time is 17 is good but if you take it again you could improve because you know what would be on the test the next time or something similiar. Good Luck with your future!

Overall, if you are a senior, applying for college, a 17 isn't a good score. But, if you are a freshman or sophomore, taking it for the first time, it isn't a bad score. You can take the ACT as many times as you want until your senior year in high school, and colleges will take your highest score. Good luck!

It's not great but I have definately heard of much worse. It is a score which is very doable as far as increasing it to where you want it to be. For example, most nursing schools require and 21 for admission. With a prep course and some study, you could well be on your way! Good Luck!

Your score puts you below the 50th percentile, which means that more than half of the people who took the test got a higher score than you did. A prep course will help you raise your score, but they can be quite expensive. See your school guidance counselor to find out if your school offers extra help.

That's a pretty bad score. I got a 26 on my first try, and if I remember right, the max is 35.
