It is a month old and the spokes are a little bit chipped at the end of the part you put in the socket, but I really doubt that's the problem. It is plugged in but it keeps saying that it is, and it isn't. It is switching from on and off. It keeps saying critical battery. Any ideas what I can do?

It may not be a charger problem but a battery problem...

When a battery gets old or daily wear and tear and will not charge then it give you crazy symptoms such as what you describe.... Does the computer power down immediately when you unplug the charger.... If yes, then the battery is not holding it's charge....

Hope this helps...
