Not determined by but greatly influences your intelligence. Other factors also contribute to intellect such as environment, people around you, determination, birth order.

Yes I believe strongly so. A good example I think are the children from well educated people, doctors, dentists, chiropractor etc. Most of their children follow an academic career, then their own..etc..etc... I do not know if a study has been done, but I think you will find the above patern quite apparent!

Also though, some people do not realise their potential. If you look hard enough there is a genius in each and every one of us!
The way to use it is another story...LOL!

Determined by both genetics and environment but more genetic influence than environmental influence.

"... in one study Bouchard reported correlations between IQ scores yielding a heritability measure for intelligence of about .70, that is genetics contributing about 70% to IQ scores..." (Hergenhahn)

the adjustments between races is minuscule whilst in comparison with the adjustments between persons. there is in basic terms rather a statistically measurable distinction, and it will become pointless because of the huge variance interior the races. The reason does not would desire to be genetic. The races are many times separated through cultures, and that surely ought to describe a great type of adjustments when you consider that weight loss plan, exorcise, residing circumstances, and so forth. all variety. you will would desire to administration all that out to make certain, and prefer I pronounced we're not coping with numbers lots above statistically significant.

I believe so. I don't have any scientific facts to back that up, but most intelligent people have intelligent families. Even if the parents aren't educated, they usually have their heads on pretty straight. I'd be interested to find out what kind of studies have been done on that.

What you are talking about is the controversy between nature vs. nurture.
Nature vs Nurture is a shorthand expression for debates about the relative importance of an individual's innate qualities ("nature") versus personal experiences ("nurture") in determining or causing individual differences in physical and behavioral traits

Nurture - Although "nurture" has historically been referred to as the care given to children by their parents, in particular their mother, it is now widely regarded as any environmental (not genetic) factor in the contemporary nature versus nurture debate. This includes the influences on development arising from prenatal, parental, extended family and peer experiences, extending to influences such as media, marketing and socio-economic status. Indeed, a substantial source of environmental input to human nature may arise from stochastic variations in prenatal development. Additionally, although childhood experience (especially early childhood experience) is often regarded as more influential in who one becomes than post-childhood experience, a liberal interpretation of "nurture" might count all life experience as "nurture".

Nature - Genetic and various inborn biological factors affecting overall development

In only a very few cases is it fair to say that a trait is due almost entirely to nature, or almost entirely to nurture. In the case of most diseases now strictly identified as genetic, such as Huntington's disease, there is a better than 99.9% correlation between having the identified gene and the disease and a similar correlation for not having either.

On the other hand, such traits as one's native language are entirely environmentally determined: linguists have found that any child (if capable of learning a language at all) can learn any human language with equal facility. With virtually all psychological traits however, there is an intermediate mix of nature and nurture, and opinions about the relative importance of each will often vary widely

Yes.

Extensive research has shown a very high genetic correlation for intelligence. Environment has an effect but it is surprisingly small.
