After you set up with ebay, set up with PayPal. Pay for all your bids that way. It's instantaneous and safe. It keeps your reputation in good standing and you get good feedback. Plus, you have proof you paid for it in case something happens.
Always check the feedback record of the seller.
Be careful when you enter your bid and before you press to accept it. It's hard to take it back if you make a mistake.
Be careful. Know what you are buying so there won't be any ugly surprises.

You can get just about anything for less than you would at a store if you have the patience. If you have to have the latest thing, RIGHT now, then eBay isn't for you. But if you are willing to wait for a deal, and outbid the other bidders (it's an online auction,) then you might enjoy it. I know I have but I don't buy too many things from there.

an ebay account to sell or purchase ??? HELL YES
over the last 2 years - my fiance and I have sold more then $9000 by simply selling crap around the house, used electronics, anything - it has been an amazing source of income - and every major purchase we consider is referenced on ebay - buy from a seller with a good rating and youre good to go
its is a market with no substitute

You need to sell items that (for example) cost you $3.00 and you can sell for $15.00 Otherwise, your ebay fees will eat up all your profits, and it won't be worth your time. My EBay fees averaged about $4.00 to $6.00 per ad. Plus, I had one item I sold that the buyer wanted me to pay shipping and handling. I caved and paid it. I ended up losing money on the deal. I have not been back since. Good luck. Moral: If you can't make a decent profit, it is not worth it.

Personally, I love Ebay. I've found a lot of really good deals on thier and soon plan to start selling some of my jewelry on there also.
The only set back is that you really have to keep up with your account. Always make sure that your payments are on time so that you can build up good comments for yourself.
If you decide to sign up, prepare to be addicted.

It depends... on ur need. If u like me, a college student who is short on bucks n' need cheap books or other stuff. Then, yes. it worth it. You can find almost everything on E-bay. Plus, u can also use the same account for half.com. Which to me is way better than e-bay. Cause i think the price for the stuff (especially 4 college text books) u find in that website is cheaper than e-bay.
Good luck n' happy new year :)

You can find great bargains on eBay. I got my textbooks for half the price on Half.com (an eBay subsidiary) and they were brand new. They take many precautions to make sure their site is safe and secure. Plus, you can unload alot of the junk that's cluttering your house that you never knew was valuable.
