Nuclear radiation is usually caused from a nuclear reaction, so I guess it would be chemical. In a nuclear explosion, electrons are used to split the atoms, so I guess it would be chemical. Hope this helps.

Congratulations to whoever basically compared a nuclear bomb to an atomic bomb. that's like comparing an apple to an apple. An atomic bomb is a kind of a nuclear bomb. So if the author meant atomic vs hydrogen bomb (yet another kind of nuclear bomb), then H-bombs may be extremely superior than the atomic bombs.
