Going to try and make this simple.

Conscious is our intellectual thinking process along with our standards we have set (morals set by man or their religion or God). The conscious argues with the intellectually process to determine what is right or wrong or to justify what we want(desire) to do.

It can not be trusted to tell us the right thing to do all the time. Every human being has a selfish nature that makes arguments to justify things they want or desire to do or not do. And it does not matter what is right or wrong when desire takes hold.

Of course this also depends what you have put into this bank what will come out of it. That is why it is so important to keep filling that bank with perfection or right things to do. And then will we listen when it conflicts with our desires?

consciousness is like a dot of light,
a reflex to attention which last a very
short time, a scanning process for
our memories, a mental window for
our pleasures & anticipations, an
inner landscape to explore with our
minds eye .....
We do almost everything with our
automatic response to habit & reflex..
Our conscious entity is always in motion.
Our conscience tells one what is wrong & right,
not our consciousness, our conscious is a dOt
of light, like being in a pitch dark room &
you shine a flash light in one spot, that's
how consciousness works....
And some psychologist believe it doesn't
even exist !!
