Can someone be attracted to both sexes? People all around the world claim to, and I've seen almost proof that it exists. What do you say?

Absolutely! Bisexuality is a real, valid sexual orientation, and there are many bisexuals around to confirm that (including me!). We are, however, a very maligned group of people, with so many stereotypes, misperceptions, myths, and outright hatred against us! I just wish I could tell everyone that we are NOT:

1) Greedy.
2) Confused.
3) In a 'phase'.
4) Indecisive.
5) Horny or sex-addicted or nympomaniacal.
6) People who want to have their cake and eat it, too.
7) Necessarily polyamorous or in open relationships.
8) Commitment-phobic or unfaithful.
9) Really gay or straight and in denial.
10) Really gay or straight but getting perks/avoiding condemnation by being bisexual.
11) Necessarily into group sex.
12) Necessarily equally split in their love of each sex.
13) Necessarily experienced with both sexes in order to call ourselves 'bisexual'.
14) The spreaders of disease from the gay community to straight.
15) When it all boils down to it, any different from you or I.

And no, not everyone is 'a little bit bisexual'. I believe strongly that there are people out there who are 100% straight or gay, and never dally along the lines in between. However, a good deal of us are somewhere in the middle, and acknowledge that by identifying themselves as bisexual.

Hope that's helped you understand bisexuality; we must constantly fight biphobia and bi-invisibility.

Yes, there's such a thing as bisexuality.
Yes, someone can be sexually attracted to those of both genders.
In fact, it's quite common. While some of those who claim to be bisexual are either experimenting or transitioning from thinking they were straight to realizing that they are gay, that's not the case for most. Many of us have realized for many years that we are attracted to both men & women (a bit to long, in my opinion, to be considered experimenting or transitioning). Some of us settle into a monogamous relationship with either a man or a woman, while others may have relationships with both men and with women (at different times or concurrently).
A person who is sexually attracted to both men and women is bisexual (regardless of who that person actually has sex with, or whether that person has sex with anyone at all).

As a bisexual myself, i might could desire to assert a hundred% that bisexuality exists, even nonetheless many others the two directly and gay might disagree. They use the "fence sitter", properly that guy or woman in simple terms can not make up their innovations, etc.. excuses simply by fact they do no longer understand the way every physique could desire to be attracted to the two women and adult adult males individuals. For me for my section i'm attracted to greater effective than in simple terms the gender of any guy or woman, it truly is the emotional, religious, psychological and such, connections long in the past it comes all the way down to what intercourse is this guy or woman. are not getting me incorrect, I nevertheless see a warm guy or woman on television or the like and drool each now and then like anybody else, seeing in simple terms actual visual allure yet while it is composed of whom i'm going to have a relationship with, Gender is the final merchandise on the plate, and then just to appreciate what our actual encounters would be like if we get to that element interior the relationship. i might advise getting the books Bi the different call *uncertain of the author* and GettingBi by utilising Robyn Ochs *spelling on author may well be incorrect* They the two do a stable activity assisting to describe bisexuality and supply first guy or woman studies instructed by utilising those that experienced them on many project surrounding the subject be counted of bisexuality.

I would say that I exist. Just going out on a lark here, it might be a pretty irrational belief, however I do have many friends and family members who can attempt to prove that I am a real 100% bisexual person. Or you could always ask the various men and women I've slept with over the years. Or my current girlfriend of two years (who is also bi) or my ex boyfriend of three years.

I think that 2% of the population is 100% straight, 2% is 100% gay, and the other 96% is bisexual. Alfred Kinsey made a scale from one to seven (I think) of how straight you are 1 is straight, 7 is gay. Everything in between is bi. Most people rank about a 2 or 3 I think. So I think most people are MOSTLY straight, but definately most people are bi :)
I mean, if you claim to be straight and you've ever thought about it once, then you couldn't be a 1. You'd be listed as a 2. So just think about that.

cando_86 and candy are both right..

yes bisexuality does exist, but there are ranges. some can be more straight than gay, others the opposite.. while some really are exactly 50-50.

i've never dated a man nor had sexual contact with a man, but i am open to the possibility that my soulmate could be male, and i would be totally happy and comfortable if this were to be my fate.

but i have always, and always will, want to be with a woman.

bottom line, for me, it's nto physical. it's about love, trust, companionship, emotions, and attitudes.. doesn't matter whether you have a penis or a vagina.. if you are able to love me and accept me, then it could be for real!

In my opinion bisexuality is just a cover up for who you really are. Now I'm not saying that about all people but think about it. I am gay. I was "bisexual" for the longest time to not blow my cover. 90% of gay people I know and talk to did the same thing. Then again I do know people that just like attention and make out with there friend. People are scared to say what they really feel at certain moments because they don't want friends and family to find out what they really are. And for people who are like that, don't be its not as bad as you think.

Well I've been bi since I was 10. I can honestly say I could be in a life long committed relationship with either a woman or a man. I've had long term relationships with both. It is recognized by science as a legitimate orientation.

Well for me it is difficult to wrap my mind around this issue because I am a gay male and only attracted to other men!
I think that it must be true tho because if there are guys who are sexually attracted to women and guys who are sexually attracted to other guys and then there are women who are sexually attracted to men and women who are sexually attracted to other women, why can't there be men who are sexually attracted to both men and women and women who are sexually attracted to women and men! I used to think that bisexuality was just a hiding place for gays who had not come to term with their true sexual orientation yet! But now I know that anything is possible and that sexuality be it gay, bi or str8 is so diverse almost as diverse as the number of people participating in sexual activities.

Yes. I first recognized mine when I had a crush on a girl who was my friend. At first, I was convinced that I was being delusional, and I almost thought I was a homosexual at one point, but I realized that I had interest in boys still too. Even though my choice goes a little heavier on liking girls, I have boy crushes too. I like both very much.
