my grandpa is giving me one, but i just want a regular peacoat. but maybe the coat is just what i need.

I love mine. It's kind of heavy, but you get used to it.
Beyond that, it's perfectly comfortable.
And if it's a genuine U.S. Navy peacoat, it will wear like iron.
Mine is over 40 years old and looks great as long as I keep it properly cleaned.

Take it from me Im in the navy they are not comfortable to wear... they itch are heavy as hell and are very tight in the chest... if your lookin for warm... no better coat,,,,

My sister was in the Navy and absolutely loved her pea coat. Sadly it was ruined by someone pouring (I forget what it was) onto it.
