I have pulled into a parking space truck running fine and come out it will not fire at all. Have to take switch off and pop up the button, then shake the ball inside loose and then reset before my truck will start.

i own a repair shop, and when they start doing this the fuel pump is going out on it,,the switch also acts as a safety switch to keep it from drawing too much voltage,,you,ll need to replace it,,id try replacing the switch first though,, i have done this ,and it fixed the problem before its cheaper also to try this, than to put a fuel pump in it,,if it doesn't work ,then you know for sure its the pump in it going bad,,good luck hope this help,s.,happy new years.

I would say you probably have a bad switch. Check to see if there is a recall out on your vehicle for that problem. If not I would say you have a bad switch and need to replace it with a new one. It is evidently sticking for some unknown reason.

Please tell what kind of vehicle you have and where is this switch that you are removing and shaking? I just might be that you removing this switch is resetting the ASD relay...I might be wrong but would like more info.

I think it is a faulty switch that may be tripping by simply shutting thr door.
