I am 12 years old in the 7th grade. I have two friends that say I'm am their best friend. One is 13 in the 7th and the other is 14 in 9th. I have a lot in common with both girls. Me and the 7th grader are closer and I can always be myself around her. But when i'm around the 9th grader, I feel as if I have to impress her. We act more of best friends than me and the 7th grader. I think that the 7th grader saying that we are best friends are just words. I know that the 9th grader really mean what she say. Ther is one problem with this and it is that the two of them can't stand each other. I really need a lot of help to pick whom is better.

just go with who you think treated you as a friend and will be there for you when things get tough. That way you will have a long lasting relationship with this person, and not regret about your decision in the futured.

You say that you and the 7th grader are closer and you can be yourself around her. If you have to try to impress the 9th grader, I think you should stay with the 7th grader. She is closer in age and you don't have to act more mature than you really are with her. Good Luck.

Your friends don't have to like each other to be your friends. They are your friends and you like them because of who they are and they like you for who you are. There is no need to label either of them with "best friend." They can both be your best friend for different reasons. The 7th grader is your best friend because you can be yourself around her and she doesn't care! You feel like you could burp and she wouldn't be grossed out! :-) The 9th grader is your best friend because you have so much in common with her and you like to impress her. It's great to have a virety of people around you so you never get bored. Just keep yourself busy and don't worry about what they think of each other. They are both your friend not each others. Hope this helps.

You can have as many best friends as you want. There is no limit. If your two friends insist on having that title all to themselves, they'll have to understand you like them both the same. Picking between two people is never nice unless its between boys you are interested in as more than a friend. Girls are catty and mean and like to be better than each other so they can prance around and think they're something. Don't fall into that rut...be better than that.

Be the 7th grader's friend for she is around your age. The 9th grader might get you into trouble.

You can have more then one best friend I have 3 of them and one don't like each other. The one you are closer to you is the one you have fun with. The other one is just the one you fell older with. They both treat you like a good friend then you have 2 you are twice as blessed. Be glad most don't have any. Your friendship is not a contest.

If you feel like you have to chose between the two then maybe you should get new friends. The one who you can be yourself around would be the best choice in my opinion. Who says you can only have one friend at a time?

sweetie your friends will not always be there when you get out of high school or get a boyfriend. you can always have 2 or more bestfriends...but if you feel that you have to impress one of them then they arent your friend to begin with, just be yourself and to be honest with you i am 28 years old and i say i dont have a best friend. someday you will see that you are going to be way to busy to hang out with them everyday. but you shouldnt have to choose between the two...if that is the case then neither of them are really your friends if they make you choose

Alright. If they really wanted to be your friends, they would try to get along for YOU.They wouldn't care if they didn't stand EACHOTHER.Or they wouldn't COMPETE for you ((for one it's being immature)) I'm sure they are both nice.To a 12 year old from a 12 year old,if I was in this situation I would tell them to TRY to get along and not make you the peanut butter in the middle of the sandwich making them soggy. ((as in making you the part that's ruining them.)) You could be friends with both of them, but again if they were really your friends they would try to get along.
