Certified vet tech here . first off think about this how old is your dog and how long has it been since he has been to see the vet. what is his current diet and compare that to his age and how much excercise he is getting . now if he is young he should be walked and played with at least twice a day. if he is acting lethargic or not like his normal self such as drinking water , playing with you or greeting you then there might be something wrong . he might not be feeling well. lack of appetite can be caused by many things , but if it persists for longer then three days i would take him or her to the vet .... other wise do not worry .

I've been around 3 dobermans, had a male myself. I have to agree with Shane, something is wrong. Take him to the vet. As far as exercise goes, the doberman male can run 45 mph for the first half mile. I used to run mine with the car, that's how I know that. They run fast, can jump very high and are very active. They were bred by inbreeding the smartest and fastest back to the smartest and fastest.

K- We have dobs- and mini ones too! The Dobermans do need exercise and if they are acting or eating unusal it may mean they need to see the vet- Our oldest was upset at us us for getting another (was not same size but min-pin) and refused to eat or give affection! If he is your only - then walk him more and keep up his energy levels- ? How old is he? that may be a factor too!

Gotta give you an "ask the vet" answer. That could be anything from heart disease to constipation to cancer to a dental problem. And a zillion other things.

I have a Dobe and I rescued several. They tend to love their food, so I'd definitely investigate the cause.

Edited to add: Check out his food. Dog food does sometimes go bad.

The larger the breed the more exercise it needs. Also it's best to feed dogs just once a day.

If he suddenly stopped eating I would take him to the vet to rule out illness first .

How old is he ?
