How would you punish your girlfriend if she didn't clean out her wardrobe like you told her to?

I told my girl to clean out her and her sons wardrobe and donate the clothes she didn't wear to charity, but instead she rebelled because she was mad that I told her I wasn't going to have sex with her. I don't believe in that until you are husband and wife.

Well, that's good that you don't believe in sex before marriage... as long as you're not doing it to control your girlfriend and your relationship. On another note, while I find it nice that you want your lady to give to the charity, I don't think it is appropriate to "punish" her because she won't do it...she's not your wife, and you don't quite have that right yet. Instead of punishing her, you can simply just sit down with her and tell her how you feel and how important it is to you to give to the less fortunate. It's probably not that she doesn't want to, but maybe you just went to her the wrong way about it. You also want to make sure that she can handle being in a celibate relationship with you, as well.

Well you shouldn't punish her. She is your girlfriend and doesn't have to do what you say, I realize you were trying to do it for a good cause. She needs to understand about your beliefs of not having sex until married. For her to rebel is stupid because you told her you wouldn't have sex. Seriously punishing her, just talk to her about your beliefs. If she really cares, she won't push the issue.

OK, first of all, you don't "punish" your girlfriend. She is your girlfriend, not your daughter and you don't have the right to do so. And maybe she didn't do as she was told because she didn't like the fact that your commanded her to do something. Next time, do not order your girlfriend, but politely request. After all, they are HER clothes, she owns them, and only she as the right to make the decision to give them away.

Second, how do you know that she is mad just because you told her you didn't want to have sex? Like I said, she probably just doesn't appreciate being ordered around.

Well, seeing as the woman is her own person and can make her decisions and can decide for herself as to whether or not she wants to clean out her wardrobe if her boyfriend TOLD her to instead of asking her politely, I'd say you don't have the right to punish her.

SHE is your girl not your child. Take time to realize what a partner really is before you take this any further. I do not hold anything against you if you want to wait till you are married before having sex.. but the control issue is something that you will have to work on. Try some Counseling for yourself soon.. Include her so that she will see you are trying to get help and it will draw you closer. it will also help her to understand why you wish to wait till you are married.
