Stoked. If I understand my teenagers correctly, it means that something is really great, got your adrenaline up, blew you away or was extremely awesome. I'm a dork, but that's what I understand. My 13 year old daughter is a skate head, she rides competitively and she gets stoked a great deal.

"stoked" - adjective - to be "stoked" is to be completely and intensely enthusiastic, exhilirated, or excited about something. those who are stoked all of the time know this; being stoked is the epitome of all being. when one is stoked, there is no limit to what one can do.

also, "stoke" - verb - one can "stoke" oneself out by facing challenges or by revving up an engine within oneself to accomplish that which one desires.

*being too stoked just means that you're still not stoked enough*

"Man oh man am i stoked for our upcoming snowboarding trip!"

"Perchance you'd like to stoke yourself out and ask that girl out!"

I made this word up in 1985. And no, I'm not kidding. I was 17 years old and we took the word "toke" as in to smoke weed and "smoke" as in to smoke weed and put them together.
Again...I'm not kidding. A friend of mine told me to come here and "answer" this question...even though it appears to have a 'best answer' already.
I made it up because I was a surfer in S. Cal and Surf/Smoke/Toke all fit the profile for the word. If we were "stoked" we were hitting the beach for some waves and smoke. Good times.
It's quite odd to hear anyone use the word...I see it in the movies once in a blue moon. I'm sure I'll never get recognition for it...but there you have it.
My name is John W. Cochran, Jr. or "Jack" as my friends call me. Seems like I've got a nickname for everything. : )
