Energy can be stored in many forms, like energy in the form of light-light energy, energy in the form sound-sound energy , energy in moving objects-kinetic energy. Energy is transformed from one form to another. For example, light bulb turns electrical energy to light energy, plants turn solar energy to chemical energy.

There are different kinds of energy; kinetic, nuclear, etc. Energy is not tangible, it's a reaction. But sometimes we say energy is stored in...say...fat, or fuel. We say we burn energy. But the energy is actually the power or reaction to the burning of some kind of fuel or something that causes the action.

Energy is not something matter or substance ................
there are different forms of energy which can be stored .....like in capacitor charge can be stored and charge is due to potential diff
between two plates.......which when connected to wires discharges........thus energy is quite difficult to stored but can be stored mainly due to potential diff.

hope this help you.
