I personally didn't really like it, however a lot of my friends did. I just thought that it seemed unreal and didn't have that creative reality complex that for instance tolken provided for all that read his masterpieces. And while the lord of the rings trilogy was about good over evil, friendship, and finding your true place, eragon was pretty much just about this dude who found a weird rock that turned out to be a dragon and then he was all pissed cause he has the responsiblity of being a dragon rider or whatever. But hey, thats just me.

I enjoyed the book. It was sort of like a mix of Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, and The Dragon Riders of Perne.

Eragon - Not so much like LOTR. It' s fantasy, and was written by a 16 yr old. Pretty damn good, but NOTHING like LOTR. Tolkein was a linguist and could get tedious in places, but 'Eragon' flows a bit more smoothly.
