I've always been able to do whatever I want; appearance wise, but to an extent. Coloring my hair, makeup, and all that sort of stuff never was a problem. That's your individuality and your choice, parents just don't want you to make the wrong decisions. They want you to be a certain way, but they really have no control over your appearance, that should and will always be up to you. Now, don't think of putting tattoos or anything else on your body! I think that's wear they draw the line. Plus, if you ask my opinion, tattoos are gross! They're just going to end up being ugly and wrinkly by the time your 40 years old. And by that time anyway, you won't really think that tattoo looks good now, would you?

I'm 15 and my parents let me color my hair the first time I asked and get contacts -but those not until I was 13 :( lol ,and If my teeth were really bad I'm sure they'd let me whiten them

and I could wear makeup in sixth grade

when i was 13, i was allowed to dye my hair any color i wanted (and i took advantage of that many times), wear makeup, whiten my teeth.. etc. the only thing i wasn't allowed to do appearance wise was get any tattoos or piercings until i turned 16.

i am 17 and i have never dyed my hair or gotten highlights.. but i would never want to. and my mom wont let me get the teeth whittening stuff because it is bad for your teeth, but i am thinking of buying it for myself because my friend used it and it works so well. and i think 13 is too young to be wearing makeup! kids these days are growing up way too fast and trying to act older!!

I'm 12 and my parents let me peirce my ears. i haven't asked if I could wear make up... As for teeth I have braces!!! My mom said anything weird i do to my hair (dying, highlitghts) I'll have to pay for myself, so I decided i REALLY didn't NEED highlights...

I couldn't do any of that stuff till' now that I am 15. I don't know why mom's are like that, she wouldn't even let me polish my nails. What a strict parent, but now that I'm 15 I can do whatever I want I just don't decide to. I don't want to dye my hair, it damages it. I can do anything now!!!! My sister (twin) got a tattoo, but I decided not to either. It all depnds if I want to now not what my mom wants. It's pretty cool. What I want!!!!!!Me, not her!

My parents won't let me wear make-up, dye my hair,or date until I'm 16! I've only got 2 years to go, but it's so lame!
