Planning a newyears party can be hard but fun to do. I usually first pick a theme. I do a color theme like black, gold , and silver(the theme I am going to use this year). If you don't want to spen a ton of money shop at a place like party city. Get a cheep bag of 100 balloons, plates, cups, napkins, and decorations(all using the colors gold, black, and silver). You will want to decorate this friday or tomarrow. For the food you should use finger foods that are fun yet sophisticated. Go for things that can easily be picked up or speared with a tooth pick.Plus make sure you have enough food for all the guests.plan for extras. The liquer is your choise. Have wine, champange, and fun drinks. Also make sure you have seltzer, cokes, and water. If you are making martinies of fun drinks have them already made in big pitchers and have them sitting on ice. That way you don't have to worry about bar tenders or people making messes. Have the quests arive at around 8:00 P.M. and expeact them to leave late.Hope that helps and hope you have a terrific party.

Prepare everything for your party well in advance so that you are not running around crazy right before guests arrive. Plan out the drinks and foods you will have. Make sure you have PLENTY of food. Prepare more food then you know you will need, more is better. Have a mental list of topics you can start talking about so that people don't feel akward (especially if they are meeting for the first time). Have an optional game/activity planned incase people start getting bored/the party lags. A deck of cards can be used to play games like Killer or a drinking game. Provide an obvious place for guests to place their trash. Make sure you have a place to put coats. And have a clean bathroom with soap and plenty of hand towels. Don't stress, remember to have fun! Good luck.

Find out how many people are coming. Figure out if you have any vegetarians or non-drinkers coming, and plan your food and drink selections accordingly. Music is crucial to a good party. Make sure you have "party appropriate" music that can be played constantly.
After that, it's time to break out your wallet. Buy lots of food and drinks, and some decorations would be nice, too.
The most important thing to know is that you will undoubtedly forget something. Don't stress out. Do as much as you can well ahead of time. Oh, and try not to drink too much until most of your guests have arrived and the party is well underway. You are the hostess, so you have to be able to take care of any problems or issues that arise.

Have lots of finger foods like veggies and dip, chips and various dips, and even some sweet stuff. Also, make sure you have plenty of mixers like Coke, Sprite, OJ, cranberry juice, and grapefruit juice. This way anyone who comes who doesn't drink will have something to drink. Are you making this a BYOB? If not, make sure you have plenty of "spirits" on hand. However, most people will bring something ( I always do). If anyone wants to bring food or drink, let them. It makes it easier on you. Get plenty of disposable plates, cups, and cutlery. That will make clean-up a lot easier. I almost forgot. Have some background music.

Post it on here with directions, and everyone will show up.
Great idea. Have lots to drink & snack on, & they will come.
