I haven't heard of plans for a PS4 yet (let's get this third one out there first!), but the newest Nintendo console is the Wii model, unique from its competitors and predecessors in its player controller requirements of execution of the desired action. (e.g. You want to swing a tennis racket in the game, you swing the controller like a tennis racket.)

A ps4 will come out within 5-10 years but they might not call it a PS4 they is no plans on the table this early in the game.
And Nintendo wii is the newest Nintendo system and yes there will be a new Nintendo system too within 4-6 years.

There are rumors that Sony is already working on a Playstation 4. These rumors can't be confirmed since it is WAY too early.
Anyway, it is sad to think that Sony is even thinking of making a new console right away. Shows the faith they have in the PS3 doesn't it?
If they do, it will probably be overpriced, and only a little bit better than the PS3.
As for Nintendo, a new console is confirmed, but will not be released for another 3-5 years.

I honestly doubt that there is going to be a playstation 4. It just wouldn't look too good, plus there will probably be all kinds of new and better game consoles coming out. As for nintendo, I don't really know.

I love Nintendo but, I have no faverites cause there all awesome. The Wii has so many cool stuff to do but the Dsi has so many cool functions and the gamecube is awesome too along with all the classics but the handhelds are very good travel buddies. I think playstation is cool too though but xbox stinks.

there will be many more gaming systems.. nintendo, sony, microsoft, and other companies will be putting out new systems for many years to come..
