If you have windows XP do a system restore: start/programs/accesories/system tools/restore - to a previous date - you know the date by the bold dates - restore. If restore doesn't work - It sounds like you will have to take it in, if you can't get online to remove. Be sure to ask about computer recovery for any imporant data you may need and how much.. Then when you get it back try this: go to www.trendmicro.com free scan need to scan for both viruses, when finished go back then click on free spyware scan. Go to www.download.com : free ad-adware & spywaredoctor. If you have a firewall that could be preventing the install you have to change settings to allow, also if it says need active X, you need to click the yellow bar (right click to allow). Also to run in the back ground try spywareblaster & free firewall zonealarm all found at www.download.com type program name in search. You need to ensure when trying the freebies you click on the free options only, read carefully. I also use www.free-av.com (free virus) it also has a window that pops up when updating it just for information purposes you just click ok, and continue, a lot have that, just ignore it & click ok to continue with free versions. Scanning can take upto an hour or more.

I use all programs listed.

You need to go out and purchase an anti virus and clean your comp. No other way really. Just buy an anti virus. They last a lifetime for like $50 and thats a load cheaper than buying a new computer.

Hello,

Since you can't go online the best option would be able to get your hands on an antivirus software from your friend or office mates. Or you can check out a local magazine on computers they usually have CDs which have a free version of antivirus software on them and then run that on your computer to clean the virus. I can only recommend eScan Internet Security Suite since I have used it for 3 years and have no problems. In case you want to download this from another computer visit http://www.mwti.net

most virus are spread through IE. IE is not a safe browser. you should use a more secure browser to protect your PC from virus.

i recommand you to use firefox with Google toolbar. firefox can block any any popup and disable any virus and adware, spyware on webpage, so, firefox is much safer than IE browser. as you know, most of virus spread throught internet and webpage.
