First, congratulations for getting hired.
One thing I wish somebody told me before I went to training was learn some hardcore, competitive level memory techniques. Memorization is what got a lot of people in training, and I think that counts for almost all airlines. I would start by Googling memory techniques used by champion memory contestants. You will have to memorize charts, diagrams, lists, acronyms, etc. My favorite technique is to create some random, ridiculous, and often times vulgar association or story that goes along with a word or diagram, such as "there are two orgasming lesbians in the aft of the plane and they have aids" to help me remember that in the aft, there are two oxygen tanks and a first aid available. The trick is not to spend too much effort in creating an association, your brain will memorize it before you realize it, it just needs something emotional or visual to "grab" on to.
Also, it's important to pay attention in class, what I do is I sit up straight and pretend like I'm very interested in what the instructor is saying, and I naturally absorb more that way. Also, don't be afraid to ask questions. There will always be classmates that laugh at or even scold at people who ask questions, but guess what, it's the people that asks questions that gets the most out of the class, and therefore succeed.
Lastly, having faith isn't a bad thing to help you through training either.
I hope that this helps and that you do well in training!
